Jeremy Clarkson has thrown his support behind Piers Morgan, following his exit from Good Morning Britain, and dubbed Meghan Markle a ‘silly little cable TV actress’.
Writing in his column for The Sun, the 60-year-old said the Duchess of Sussex, who recently accused the Royal Family of racism, will be ‘toast’ within ‘five years’.
He said: “Trust me on this one. Markle’s toast, and within five years, I suspect she’ll be posing for photographs, on her own outside the Taj Mahal or sitting on the back of a playboy’s yacht in the Med.
“And poor old Piers will realise that he lost his job over absolutely nothing at all.”
Morgan caused outrage earlier this month when he accused Meghan of lying about having suicidal thoughts when she was pregnant with her first child.
His comments sparked thousands of Ofcom complaints and he ended up parting ways with the daytime show.
He said: “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said.
“Who did you go to? What did they say to you? I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”
Meghan made headlines across the globe earlier this month when she sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a tell-all interview.
Opening up about how low she felt, she said: “Look, I was really ashamed to have to say at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry especially, but I knew that if I didn’t say that I would do it.”
She added: “I just didn’t want to be alive anymore.”
