Jeremy Clarkson has sparked backlash on Twitter with his ‘annual’ results day tweet.

Every year when students find out what they achieved in their A-levels, the Clarkson’s Farm presenter likes to remind everyone how he did at school by sharing a post on social media.

This year, he tweeted: “Don’t worry if your A-Level results are disappointing. I got a C and 2 Us and I’m currently holidaying on this boat.”

Although Clarkson might consider this a joke, many on social media feel it was ‘unnecessary’.

One person commented: “Not helpful. The world has changed since then and employers are looking for academic qualifications more than ever before.”

A second said: “It’s just Clarkson’s comments are less about ‘Don’t worry, you can still achieve all you want to,’ and more about ‘Look at me, I’m so rich, you should all adore me’.”

“He really doesn’t understand humility does he,” a third added.

A fourth commented: “Yeah like don’t worry if you don’t get good results, the reality is 1 out of every 100,000 people with poor results go on to make it as a TV star. That’s great advice, Jeremy.”

However, some people saw the funny side in Clarkson’s tweet and believe it is simply a results day tradition of his.

One person replied: “It’s not results day if Jeremy Clarkson doesn’t tell us how bad he did in his A levels and how he’s currently thriving in life.”

Another agreed, commenting: “Death, taxes and Jeremy telling us what he got for A-levels once a year.”

Clarkson has been putting out these reminders of how he’s ended up despite not doing well in his A-levels since 2014.

In his first tweet, he mentioned how he owns a Mercedes Benz.

However, each year Clarkson seems to boast about something even more extravagant, as he has tweeted about his mansion in the Cotswold, what Ranger Rover he is going to drive, and how he’s been on a superyacht in the Mediterranean.
