A Jeremy Vine guest has sparked outrage over a comment she made about The Queen – who is reportedly concerned about Prince Harry’s new memoir – on the Channel 5 programme.
Vine was talking about the Monarch testing positive for Covid when political commentator, Marina Purkiss, branded her ‘irrelevant’.
She said: “Of course, and I wish her the best, I just don’t know why we are fascinated by this one person.”

Shocked, Vine replied: “She’s The Queen! She’s the most famous person in the world!”
Appearing unfazed by the host’s response, Purkiss added: “She is so irrelevant to so many people.”
At this point in the programme, the 56-year-old branded the commentator ‘very rude’ for her comments.
Vine wasn’t the only person who was annoyed by Purkiss’ words, with many taking to Twitter and expressing their rage.
“F*** you, you irrelevant good for nothing t***,” one fumed. “Who the f*** do you think you are insulting this incredible lady who has kept this country going for 70 [years] you f***ing idiot.”
Another added: “How disrespectful of @MarinaPurkiss to speak of The Queen in this way, she has devoted her whole life to this country and the Commonwealth, another out of touch reviewer, why was this allowed @channel5_tv?
“She has no idea what The Queen does at all.”
However, others backed Purkiss up and brought taxpayers into the issue.
One commented: “The Queen is irrelevant to many people, taxpayers see very little return for their money, and to think taxpayers might pick up the £12m bill for her son’s deviant behaviour is beyond ridiculous.
“Her Grandson isn’t willing to pay for security to be safe in the UK.”
