Jessica Alba says she put up an ‘armour of masculine energy’ to avoid Hollywood predators.
Alba, 41, shot to fame at just 13 years old when she starred in the family film Camp Nowhere.
She’s gone on to appear in movies such as Fantastic Four, Dark Angel and Honey.
In the early 2000s, Alba was known as a s** symbol and now, she is saying she felt ‘objectified’ during this time.

Appearing on CNN and HBO Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?, Alba says she was aware she was ‘selling’ a product.
The Into the Blue star explains: “I guess I understood that I needed to help sell the product. And they sell it how they do, so I understood it as a business decision and a strategy.
“And so I was able to distance myself from it. But I guess, you know, you can’t change other people’s minds about what they may or may not think of you.”

She adds that although there’s nothing wrong with owning your s**uality, she was ‘definitely not that person’.
Elsewhere in the interview, Alba says she put in a conscious effort to give off a ‘masculine energy’ so that she wouldn’t be ‘preyed on’ by Hollywood predators.
“It wasn’t until I became a mom that I really started to even see myself as a woman or a s**ual being or someone who owned her power and her femininity,” she says.

“At that time, I felt like I was very much having to put up this armour of masculinity and masculine energy so I wouldn’t, you know, be preyed on because there were a lot of predators in Hollywood from age 12 to 26.”
Alba recallings swearing a lot and trying to make herself unavailable to those with certain intentions.
While she describes herself as a ‘warrior’, adding that she was ‘really tough’.
Previously, Alba’s former Dark Angel co-star, Jensen Ackles, has described working with the actress as ‘horrible’.
The actor appeared on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast and was asked whether it was ‘cool’ to work alongside Alba.

To which Ackles responded: “No, she was horrible.”
However, the Supernatural star has since spoken out and confirmed that he and Alba are now on good terms.
He reportedly told her how unpleasant she was to work with.
“She was under an immense amount of pressure on that show,” Ackles reflected.
He added that she was ‘young’ and in a ‘rocky’ relationship at the time.
Alba is now married to film producer Cash Warren, 44, and they share three children: daughters Honor and Haven and son Hayes.
