Jesy Nelson has claimed that she was often forced to do ‘photoshoots in a bikini’ during her time in Little Mix, despite suffering from depression.
Chatting with Fearne Cotton for her podcast, Happy Place, the 30-year-old said she felt like she had ‘no control’ over her life in the best-selling girl band, and some days she struggled to ‘get out of bed’.
She said: “I would have days when I was thinking, ‘How am I going to get out of bed today. I feel so depressed I don’t know how I am going to get out of bed today?’

“I would have to do a photoshoot in a bikini.”
She added: “I felt like I had no control over my life.
“I didn’t come into this industry for people to literally tear me down for what I look like.”
Nelson then compared her time in Little Mix to being like a ‘machine’.
“It is f***ing hard being in a girl band,” she said. “It is like a machine. You don’t have any time to just be. Or do what you actually want to do.”

In a chat with Cosmopolitan, she claimed it was when the girls filmed the ‘Sweet Melody’ music video.
She recalled: “I had anxiety. Whenever we had a music video, I put an enormous amount of pressure on myself to try and lose weight.
“I have a fear of looking back on the camera. If I don’t like what I see, I find it so hard to be in front of the camera and feel amazing and perform.”
