Jimmy Carr has revealed he has become a father for the first time.
The comedian confirmed the happy news during a recent stand-up gig at the O2 Academy Brixton.
Carr has been in a relationship with his girlfriend Karoline Copping for 20 years.

According to The Sun, he said: “I had to tell my little boy he’s adopted.
“I mean, he isn’t, but the look on his face. I said, ‘No, no, no, you were adopted, the new family is picking you up tomorrow.’”
He added: “We’re having a gender-reveal party for our kid but we’re going to wait until he’s 21 just to be sure.
“With some babies, you can’t tell, is it a boy or an ugly girl?”

Many of his fans have now taken to Twitter to congratulate the star and have also used it as an opportunity to poke fun at him
One commented: “Congratulations on becoming a dad. Please don’t do the ‘I’ve had to tame my mouth now I’m a parent’ routine. And you’ve left it a bit late haven’t you? Dad? Grandad more like.”
Another quipped: “Hearing @jimmycarr is now a dad, it’s now 100% accurate to call him a motherf****r.”
In January last year, Carr was photographed pushing a pram in London but neither he nor his girlfriend, who is a commissioning editor for Channel 5, have ever spoken publically about their family.
Despite the pair being in a long-term relationship, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight when they met.
Carr told BBC Radio four’s Dessert Island Discs, in 2017, the now mother of his child thought he was a ‘one-note comedian with the eyes of a sex offender’.
