Aston Merrygold has taken to Instagram and paid tribute to one of the ‘original JLS members’, who has tragically died aged 35.
Merrygold, 35, is best known for being one of the members of the British boy band JLS – which is also made up of Marvin Humes, Ortisé Williams and JB Gill.
They were runner-ups to Alexandra Burke in the fifth series of The X Factor back in 2008 and are best known for the tracks ‘Beat Again’, ‘Everybody in Love’ and ‘One Shot’.
JLS broke up after seven years together in May 2013 but the group are currently on a reunion tour.
Sadly, it has been revealed that an ‘original JLS member’ has passed away and fans have been left heartbroken.

Jack Pointer Mackenzie, who toured with the group from 2009 until 2021, has died.
Throughout his career as a professional dancer, Mackenzie worked with many huge celebrities, including Justin Bieber and Camilla Cabello.
His cause of death is currently unknown.
According to The Mirror, a tribute website says that Mackenzie’s funeral took place on October 2.

Heartbroken by the news, Merrygold has taken to social media and penned an emotional tribute.
“RIP Captain,” Merrygold wrote, alongside a prayer hand and raised hand emojis. “Original JLS member.”
Over a video of the pop group and dancers showing off their moves, Merrygold added: “Captain Jack always with the vibe from 2009 and beyond!! A phenomenal band member!”
Base Dance Studios has also posted a heartfelt message on social media, writing: “A unique gift, who shall be sorely missed. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.”

Fans of The X Factor band have paid their respects to Mackenzie on social media.
“That is awful. 35, how sad,” one person penned.
Another added: “Truly heartbreaking. RIP.”
“Much love, this news has been in my mind and heart for few weeks, processing still everything we can learn from him,” a third person commented.
Somebody else said: “The most genuine, loveliest and talented person.”
“Watching him dance was awe-inspiring. Thinking of his friends and family,” a firth person wrote.
