Joe Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, has said that Meghan Markle would be a ‘good presidential candidate’ to be the US president one day.
The former campaign manager and close adviser to the leader appeared on Good Morning Britain on May 10 and said that ‘more women’ should be in politics.
Owens, who appeared on the show to promote her new memoir, ‘Growing Up Biden,’ said: “It’s wonderful to have women in politics, the more women we have, the better our democratic system will work.”

Referring to the Duchess of Sussex, she added: “We embrace all women and we welcome her to come in and join the Democratic Party.”
When specifically asked whether Owens believed Markle could be US president one day, she continued: “Yes, perhaps, of course, she will.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Biden’s sister defended the President after he has been accused of not being fit for office by Republicans.

She stated: “First of all, his gaffes are truths. He speaks the truth.
“Is he capable? Watch him. Look at him. He speaks the truth. Sometimes it comes out in a different way and people call it a gaffe. He speaks the truth.”
Biden has particularly come under criticism over his response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
On May 9, the 79-year-old attended a political fundraiser in a Washington suburb and reportedly said that he is concerned that Vladimir Putin doesn’t have a way out of the war.
He apparently went on to add: “I’m trying to figure out what we do about that.”
