John Travolta has paid tribute to his ‘soulmate’ Kirstie Alley following her tragic death.
The actress was known for her role as Rebecca Howe in Cheers, as well as her appearances in films such as It Takes Two and For Richer or Poorer.
Alley, 71, also starred in the Look Who’s Talking franchise alongside Travolta, 68, from 1989 to 1993.
During their time filming, the pair formed an incredible friendship and after hearing the heartbreaking news, the Grease star, who described the actress as his ‘soulmate’, has paid tribute.

“I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again.”
The post has been liked more than 580,000 times and hundreds have taken to the comments and reflected on the pair’s close bond.
One person commented: “Look Who’s Talking was one of my favourite movies.”
“I’m so sorry buddy,” added another. “I know you loved her.”
While a third wrote: “You were the first person I thought of when I heard the news… I don’t even follow you but I knew I had to see how you were.
“My all-time favourite movie franchise is Look Who’s Talking. I’m hurt.”
Travolta went on to share a video of him and Alley dancing to ‘The Dance of Love’ in Look Who’s Talking Now.
Alley played Travolta’s love interest in the Look Who’s Talking movies, however, they were also fond of each other offscreen.
In 2020, the actress appeared on The Talk and said she’d love to star in another sequel, reports People.
She reportedly said: “John and I, we both really want to do it, because we think it’s funny that we’re the grandparents.”
During her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, Alley was asked by psychic Sally Morgan whether she had ever had an affair with ‘someone really famous’.
Candidly, the Scream Queens star said (via Us Weekly): “Not a consummated affair. But I did kiss two people.
“Patrick Swayze … I would have loved to have had an affair with Patrick Swayze, but we were both married.”
Referencing Travolta, she claimed: “I almost ran off and married John.
“I did love him. I still love him. If I hadn’t [have] been married, I would have gone and married him.”
Alley’s passing was confirmed on December 5 in a statement by her family.
It said that the actress had recently been diagnosed with cancer and had been receiving treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center.
The statement read: “We are grateful to the incredible team of doctors and nurses at the Moffitt Cancer Center for their care.
“Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did.
“We thank you for your love and prayers and ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.”
