Johnny Depp Donates ‘Huge’ Earnings From NFT Sale To Children’s Hospitals

Johnny Depp has made a sizeable donation to four charities across America, including a children’s hospital that has ties to Amber Heard.

On July 6, his Never Fear Truth NFT platform announced they had raised close to $800,000 in donations and that they would split the money between multiple organisations.

In a statement on the Twitter page, they revealed the charities that will receive the money, which are: “Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation (via CAF America), Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (via CAF America), The Footprint Coalition, [and] the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.”

Then in a separate tweet, they thanked everyone involved by saying: “We are grateful and very thankful to the Never Fear Truth community for this tremendous accomplishment – making this project one of the most philanthropic NFT sales to date – and we are excited to build on this success and making an even greater impact going forward.”

One of the beneficiaries, The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, is tied to his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

During their high-profile defamation case, it was revealed that the 36-year-old actress had failed to donate any of the $7million she received from Depp as part of their divorce settlement in 2016, despite pledging to do so.

Heard then revealed to his lawyer, Camille Vasquez, that she has not done so as of yet because of the all legal costs that she has to pay due to the Pirates of the Caribbean star suing her.

When questioned whether she had donated the money, the Aquaman star repeatedly said she ‘pledged’ to donate the money, and then would go on to compare the donation to paying off a mortgage on the house through instalments.

Since the end of the trial, Depp has been seen performing on stage with friend and fellow musician Jeff Beck, and recently got a new tattoo of a broken arrow while in Norway.

The new piece of ink is meant to signify a new start and bury his past.
