Johnny Depp’s alleged ‘dark’ text messages about Amber Heard to his friend, Paul Bettany, have been disclosed at his defamation trial against her.

The 58-year-old was questioned about the messages, in which he reportedly expressed a desire to ‘burn’ and ‘drown’ the actress, by her attorney, Benjamin Rottenborn.

Reading them aloud, the lawyer said: “Let’s burn Amber!” before asking the actor: “You see that?”

He responded: “I do see that.”

To which, Rottenborn added: “You didn’t stop. The next text down says: ‘Let’s drown her before we burn her!’ I read that right?

“I’d like to apologise to the court and the jury for some of the language I’m going to use.”

He then read out an expletive message that Depp had sent referring to her corpse and asked the Pirates of the Caribbean star, again, if ‘he’d read it right’.

The actor replied: “You certainly did.”

Rottenborn questioned: “You wrote that about the woman who would later become your wife?”

“Yes,” said Depp.

Johnny Depp Thought Amber Heard Was ‘Too Good To Be True’ When They Met

It comes as a video was played in the courtroom of the 58-year-old ‘smashing his kitchen in a drunken rage‘.

The footage shows the actor shouting ‘Motherf*****!’ It begins with Heard saying: “What happened? All I did was say sorry. Did something happen to you? I don’t think so.

“You drank this whole thing this morning? You’re smashing s***.”

In court, he claimed he ‘did assault a couple of cabinets, but ‘didn’t touch Miss Heard,’ telling jurors: “Clearly I was having a bad time. I don’t know what with regard to, but being illegally recorded by your chosen other is quite fitting with the rest of the photographs and tape recordings.

“She tried to hide it from me and laughed and smiled at the end. That was the most interesting part.”
