Jojo Siwa, who recently confirmed she’s a part of the LGBTQ+ community, wants a heterosexual kissing scene removed from her upcoming Christmas-themed movie, Bounce.
The YouTuber, who is currently dating Kylie Prew, made the comments while chatting to Entertainment Weekly.
She explained: “I’m madly in love and I do not want to kiss another human. Especially because it’s a man.
“I’m not about it. I’m trying to get it pulled so bad. It’ll happen. It’ll get pulled.”
The 18-year-old, who will be playing a role that has been adapted from the young-adult novel, says the kiss has become an issue of concern as she’s worried her fans won’t be able to differentiate between her character and her real-life persona.
Jojo explained: “That’s what they look at me as, not some character, not some fictional thing. And so, it’s going to be a little weird.”
Back in January, the American dancer came out as gay on Twitter when she posted a photo of herself in a printed t-shirt that read: “Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.”
She captioned the post: “Thanks for the shirt cousin.”
Although it was a simple statement, the YouTube personality, whose real name is Joelle Joanie Siwa, received tons of support from fans.
“JoJo Siwa coming out is so important,” penned one fan. “Her audience is younger and kids being able to look up to someone that’s NOT straight could help them discover themselves and hopefully make future generations even more open-minded.”
Another said: “My niece is gonna LOVE seeing this! She’s seven and absolutely idolises you.
“She’s young, but she nervously told my sister a while ago that she likes girls, not boys. My mom and I are sure to tell her she can like anyone she wants to, that we’d never change how we view or love her.”
