Jonah Hill has legally changed his last name.
The Wolf of Wall Street star, 39, has been using a stage name since he started acting in 2004.
This is common among celebrities – with some A-listers selecting eccentric titles that are nothing like their real ones.
This is especially true for Reginald Kenneth Dwight aka pop legend Elton John and Farrokh Bulsara aka Queen star Freddie Mercury.
However, some, like Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul aka Aaron Paul Sturtevant, opt for much simpler changes.

Hill has never spoken about his decision to use a stage name.
When asked about it by The Guardian, he reportedly remained silent for a few seconds before replying: “Can we just not? Just… don’t.”
Now, the Oscar nominee has officially changed his legal name, which is Jonah Hill Feldstein.
The actor recently filed a petition to cut ‘Feldstein’ from his legal name so he can be known simply by his stage name, Jonah Hill, according to TMZ.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Hill’s petition has now been granted.
It reads: “The petition is granted. Once the proposed decree is signed, it cannot be amended without a new petition to change name.”
The outlet reports that Hill did not need to appear before the courts to have the change approved.
Discussing the move on Facebook, one fan writes: “I could never imagine telling my family that I’m renouncing my family name, and adopting a different or new one.
“I respect everyone’s choice to choose whatever name they want, but just because something ‘is’ doesn’t mean it is what ‘ought’ to be.
“There’s a difference.”
Another adds: “Never knew he or Aaron Paul had different last names. Good on them for finally making it legal.”
A third says: “He’s not the first celeb to change his name people…
“He’s just dropping part of his name. So many people do this.
“Why do we care so much about what these people do?”
Diehard fans of the actor may have already known about his secret surname, as his younger sister, Beanie Feldstein, is also a successful actress in her own right.
The 29-year-old is best known for her starring roles in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Lady Bird and Booksmart – which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

As well as changing his name, Hill also announced earlier this year that he will no longer be promoting the films he stars in, following a series of anxiety attacks.
The actor explains: “Through this journey of self-discovery within the film, I have come to the understanding that I have spent nearly 20 years experiencing anxiety attacks, which are exacerbated by media appearances and public-facing events.
“You won’t see me out there promoting this film, or any of my upcoming films, while I take this important step to protect myself.
“If I made myself sicker by going out there and promoting it, I wouldn’t be acting true to myself or to the film.”
