A journalist has gone viral after speaking six languages in a live report from Ukraine.
Philip Crowther, who is understood to be from a British-German-Luxembourgian background, was reporting from the country’s capital city, Kyiv, on the Russian invasion when he flipped between languages.
Footage of the 41-year-old has been shared by the International Affiliate Correspondent for Associated Press, who tweeted a link to the clip, alongside the caption: “Six-language coverage from #Kyiv with @AP_GMS.

“In this order: English, Luxembourgish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German.”
In the footage, Crowther speaks English and can be heard saying: “There’s been a war with Russian backed forces in the East Donbas region for eight years now, but despite that, the capital city of Kyiv is relatively calm.”
After watching the report, Twitter users were quick to commend him on his multilingual talent.
One viewer said: “My entire life I’ve been humble about speaking 4.5 of the 6 – plus a couple more. In this day and age, I guess I should feel some pride.
“Bravo for reminding the world how it’s done when we don’t let exceptionalism or xenophobia get in way.”

“Fair play to you!” added another. “Must be wonderful to be fluent in so many different languages!”
A third mused: “Really impressive, Philip. I wonder, have you come across your comedian alter-ego, @YGVassilakis?
“One of his specialities is dubbing lines from famous shows in numerous languages. Together, you must have all of Europe covered.”
It seems his skills also attracted some romantic admirers, with one swooning: “Oh my God is this man married? If he’s not where can I submit my application?”
