Katy Perry is being called out for her song ‘Dark Horse’ over its lyrics about notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer

Perry, 38, release the single in 2013 as a part of her fourth studio album, ‘Prism’.

For the track, the ‘Hot N Cold’ singer collaborated with rapper Juicy J.

‘Dark Horse’ was inspired by Perry’s love of the 1996 fantasy horror movie The Craft, reports udiscovermusic.com.

Following the release of the Netflix series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, the single is facing a ton of backlash for its ‘disrespectful’ reference to Dahmer.

Referencing the song on Twitter, one user said: “It still upsets me when I hear the line in the song ‘Dark Horse’: ‘She eats your heart out like Jeffrey Dahmer’, I always make my daughter turn the station.

“It’s so disrespectful to the victims’ families. I hope people remember them while watching Netflix. Sorry for their losses.”

Another added: “Knowing the depths of what Jeffrey Dahmer did… Juicy J [is] wrong for what he said in that Katy Perry song.”

“Since Jeffrey Dahmer is trending right now, can talk about how weird Juicy J’s line in Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’ is…” a third wrote.

“I eat boys up, breakfast and lunch, then when I’m thirsty, I drink their blood.

“Carnivore, animal, I am a cannibal. I eat boys up, you better run.”

Fans were quick to call out the singer over the lyrics after watching the Netflix series.
