Katy Perry has revealed in her latest music video ‘Never Worn White’ that she’s expecting her first child with Orlando Bloom.
The 35-year-old has confirmed the pregnancy rumours through cradling a baby bump at the end of the music for her latest single, ‘Never Worn White’.
Referencing singers such as Beyonce who announced her pregnancy in a floral photoshoot, she announced her pregnancy in style by holding her bump whilst looking radiant in her new music video.
After the video was released, Perry took to Twitter and said: “So glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore.
“Or carry around a big purse, lol.”
She later when on Instagram Live to add: “There’s a lot that’s happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth, literally, and figuratively… to something, you guys have been waiting for. I’m excited, we’re excited and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music.
“While it’s not the lead single, it’s a good way to start out. I had to reveal [the pregnancy] at some point. It’s getting pretty obvious.”
This will be Perry’s first child with Bloom, 43, who shares a nine-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife, Australian model Miranda Kerr, who he was married from 2010 to 2013. Perry has also been married, as she exchanged vows with comedian Russell Brand whilst wearing a dove grey gown in 2010. Perry and Bloom have been dating since 2016 and last year announced their engagement on Valentine’s Day.
In her most recent ballad, Perry has referenced to her previous nuptials: “The truth is I have never worn white.
“Because the time before this, 10 years ago, I wore dove grey. So let’s just say it’ll be my first time wearing white.”
In other romantic ballads, she has alluded to the idea that she wants children with Bloom in the future, with lyrics such as: “See us in 60 years with a full family tree.”
Next week, the pop star is expected as a headline act at a concert in support of Australia’s firefighters and communities affected by bushfires.
