A clip of Kay Burley grilling Liz Truss over numerous political U-turns has spread like wildfire online.
The Tory leadership candidate and potential Prime Minister sat down with Burley, of Sky News, last night and was quizzed on her ‘constant’ changing of policy – which made for pretty awkward viewing.
Burley said: “You were a Remainer, and now you’re not. You supported Brits to fight in Ukraine then you didn’t. You wanted to build on the green belt, and now you don’t.

“You wanted to abolish the Monarchy, and now you don’t. You wanted to arm Taiwan and now I’m not sure if you’re saying whether you do or not.”
Truss interrupted: “I’m saying we do provide them with those resources.”
Burley then continued: “Okay. You wanted to cut civil servants’ pay in the regions and then you said you didn’t.”
She added, to laughter from the audience: “Will the real Liz Truss please stand up?”
Addressing Burley’s line of questioning, Truss admitted she did not come from a ‘traditional Conservative background’ and that she had once been a Liberal Democrat as a teenager.
She said: “Show me somebody who has the same views at 19 and 49 and I’ll show you somebody who’s not capable of original thoughts.”

Viewers reacted to the ‘sizzling’ exchange, and many were particularly impressed by Burley’s Eminem reference at the height of a political interview.
One wrote on Twitter: “Will the real Slim Shady please stand up, please stand up, aka #LizTruss… Unbelievable!”
Another added: “Nicely done. And the Eminem reference makes me think Truss should now be known as The Real Dim Shady.”
A third said: “This is absolutely superb. Take a bow, Kay Burley.”
Only one word was required to describe the ‘roast,’ according to one user, who put: “Sizzling.”
