Keanu Reeves has admitted that he would love to play a live-action version of Batman one day.

The John Wick star, who voices The Dark Knight in the upcoming animated film DC’s League of Super Pets, revealed ‘it would be a dream’ to portray the character.

He told Extra TV: “I mean I love Batman. I love him as a character and in the comic books and in the films.”

When asked about playing the character in live-action, Reeves added: “Maybe when they need an older Batman.”

Fans of the actor supported the idea of him suiting up as the iconic DC character, with one user tweeting: ”He’s got my vote!”

Another user commented: “He would make the BEST Batman!”

A third commented: “Keanu playing Batman would be epic!!”

However, not everyone liked the idea, with one person writing: “The people who want him to be Batman are part-timers, employees of his agency, or idiots who want to donate.”

Although there is plenty of support for The Matrix star to play the historic superhero, it will be difficult for him to get the role as there are currently three live-action Batman projects in the works.

Robert Pattinson will soon be starring in the sequel to The Batman, which garnered critical acclaim and was a box-office success.

Many praised the former Twilight heartthrob for his portrayal as The Caped Crusader, including Reeves, who said he was ‘awesome’ in the film.

Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will play the role in the upcoming DC movie, The Flash, which is set to release in 2023.

DC’s League of Super Pets will be in theatres on July 29 and, alongside Reeves, will star Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.
