Keanu Reeves’ ‘dark’ NFT plans have been slammed by fans.

It all started when the actor was asked about his views on the non-fungible tokens when promoting his film, The Matrix: Resurrections, last December.

At the time, he laughed at the concept and stated that they’re ‘easily reproduced’. However, his opinions have drastically changed, as he’s now working on a project called the Futureverse Foundation.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves’ plans to make NFTs more ‘inclusive’ by supporting ‘diverse artists and creative communities’.

After hearing about the project, fans jumped to Twitter and criticised the 57-year-old.

Outraged, one tweeted: “Keanu Reeves jumping on the NFT train is really not the kind of news I wanted to read today.”

Another added: “Just heard Keanu Reeves is doing NFT stuff… Life ruined.”

“Hope not,” a third simply said.

“Keanu Reeves has turned into an NFT,” a fourth fumed. “I hate my life.”

Bizarrely, Reeves appears to have jumped on the NFT bandwagon during a dark time.

Numerous reports have stated that its sales are plummeting and many celebrities, including Jimmy Fallon and Travis Barker, appear to have abandoned their accounts.

Speaking of Reeves, fans were recently left gobsmacked when the actor claimed that he and Winona Ryder are ‘married under the eyes of God’.

The Matrix star made the shock comment when discussing the filming of the 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula with Esquire last year.

He told the publication: “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.”
