A KFC customer has been left ‘horrified’ after claiming to have found an ‘entire chicken head’ in a box of hot wings from a restaurant in Twickenham.

The woman, named Gabrielle, posted the picture alongside a two-star review on JustEat.

It read: “I found a fried chicken head in my hot wings meal. Put me off the rest of my meal, urgh.”

The post was then shared on the Instagram account Takeaway Trauma and it has received hundreds of comments.

One person questioned: “How did they not notice that while preparing the food?”

Another added: “Well this has ruined even chicken for me.”

However, others have claimed that diners should ‘expect’ this if they are prepared to eat meat, with one commenting: “Buys a dead animal to eat – complains about getting a dead animal to eat?”

A second said: “If you eat meat there’s nothing to complain about you’re just faced with the reality of what you’re eating for once.”

In agreement, a third wrote: “If you can’t handle that your food is a dead animal then you shouldn’t be eating meat.”

“These comments are odd,” penned a fourth. “If I ordered a burger and it came with a cow toe in the box, it would still be gross even if it is the same dead animal that I ordered.”

KFC has reportedly issued a statement to The Sun in response to the review, and have claimed to be taking the incident ‘incredibly seriously’.

They stated: “We were genuinely surprised by this photo. Since Gabrielle got in touch, we’ve been looking into how it happened.

“Put simply, we serve real chicken – and we’re proud of that – but this has clearly slipped through the strict processes and checks in place with our suppliers, partners, and teams, who freshly prepare everything in our restaurants.

“It’s true that even the best-laid plans can on rare occasions go awry. And this is an incredibly rare one.

“We’ve reached out to her and she’s now accepted some free KFC on us.”
