Kim Kardashian’s ‘shameful’ OJ Simpson comment on Saturday Night Live has divided viewers.
The 40-year-old hosted the late-night TV sketch at the weekend and made reference to Simpson, who was acquitted for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman in 1995.
Referencing her late father, lawyer Robert Kardashian, she said: “You know, I’m thinking of following in my father’s footsteps.

“Now, you know, my father was and still is such an influence and inspiration to me. And I credit him with really opening up my eyes to racial injustice.
“It’s because of him that I met my first black person… Want to take a stab in the dark at who it was?”
She continued: “I know it’s sort of weird to remember the first black person you met, but OJ does leave a mark – or several. Or none at all. I still don’t know.”
The monologue was met with a round of applause from the audience. However, viewers at home weren’t impressed with the joke.

One viewer tweeted: “Jokes about OJ Simpson are in bad taste, as he is linked to murders.”
Another added: “Very disappointed in you Kim Kardashian and @nbcsnl for the OJ Simpson jokes. Domestic violence is not funny and it’s shameful you would include jokes about it, especially during #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth.”
“Imagine how Nicole Brown’s family must feel, or OJ Simpson’s children who lost their mother…,” a third pointed out.
Fortunately for Kardashian, some people saw the funny side and said it was great to see that the reality TV star showed she has a sense of humour.
“I don’t know what’s more impressive, the fact that Kim Kardashian’s SNL episode has been thus far really good, or that OJ Simpson jokes just don’t stop being hilarious,” one wrote.
In agreement, a second penned: “Kim Kardashian made an OJ Simpson joke on Saturday Night Live. I’m weak.”
