Alongside the caption and link to her game, the 40-year-old included an animated version of herself waving the Pride flag.
Immediately after the post was published, hundreds took to the comments to say it was inappropriate of Kim to make Pride all about her.
“Thanks for tokening my community to sell stuff, sis. Really supportive,” one person remarked. “You could do something about your ex-step mommy and really show you care. Or just make an ad for Pride. Whatever.”
Another added: “Kim, thanks for supporting but I really don’t know if it is a good idea to promote your game in the same tweet. Have a good day though!
“It’s kind of like capitalising off the LGBTQ+ community in a way, isn’t it? You show your support and then plug in your game where you can get a bunch of items for that community which costs in-game money which you can use real money to buy.”
A third commented: “How unsurprising that you can make Pride into a way to make yourself some money. #Greed is so passé, as are you.”
The mum-of-four hasn’t responded to the backlash.
Kim has been in the headlines a lot lately due to her separation from Kanye West.
Recently, the SKIMS owner revealed the reason she decided to leave him and admitted she’s ready to move on.
