Leona Lewis has announced the birth of her first child and revealed the ‘unusual’ name.
The pop star, along with husband Dennis Jauch, has named her daughter Carmel Allegra.
In an Instagram post, Lewis penned: “And then there were three. Our little Carmel Allegra arrived 22.7.22.”

Jauch, a creative director from Germany, shared the same post and message on his social media accounts.
Famous faces including the likes of Michelle Visage, Jessie J, and Sonny Jay sent well wishes in the comments on Lewis’ post.
Fans were quick to react to the name, with one writing online: “Kinda reminds me of Carmen Electra.”
Another said: “Nice name, there aren’t a lot of Carmel’s being born these days!”
A third commented: “Stunning. What an unusual but beautiful name!”
“That name is terrible,” added a fourth.
The X-Factor winner had announced that the couple was expecting in a post back in March, posting a picture of her baby bump along with the caption: “Can’t wait to meet you in the summer.”

Lewis and Jauch have been married for three years and tied the knot during a luxurious wedding ceremony at Sting’s estate in Tuscany.
After the wedding, she wrote in an Instagram post: “I will cherish this day for a lifetime.
“Nine years ago this amazing man walked into my life and last weekend we said ‘I do’ surrounded by the people we love.
“From our family style dinner in the vineyards of Tuscany to our ceremony in the small chapel that sheltered us from the storm outside, to the all night singing & dance party, every moment was a gift of love.”
Lewis has previously spoken of a difficult first trimester after conceiving, saying she had been ‘severely ill and unable to leave the house’.
