Model Who Can’t Get A Job With 99% Of Her Body Inked Shows Off What She Looked Like Before Transformation
A model dubbed ‘Australia’s most tattooed woman’ has revealed what she looked like before undergoing her dramatic body transformation.
Amber Luke, better known online as the ‘Dragon Girl’, has reportedly spent around $300,000 on tattoos, cosmetic procedures, piercings, and injections as part of her ongoing transformation.
Despite already covering an estimated 99 percent of her body in tattoos, Luke says she has no intention of stopping.
The model told IGV: “There will never be a point where I am done self-evolving, both inside and outside. Call it whatever you will, but I see change and self-growth to be beautiful and bold.”
Her striking appearance has evolved over several years, with one of her most controversial procedures being something she had dreamed about since she was a young adult.
“I knew I wanted my eyeballs tattooed from 20 years old, I saw it online and thought it was so strikingly unique. I knew it was meant for me,” she says.
Eyeball tattooing involves injecting ink beneath the thin outer layer covering the white part of the eye using a needle at multiple injection points, according to NSW Health.
The procedure permanently changes the color of the eye’s sclera and cannot be reversed.
The painful tattoo procedure that left her blind
While Luke ultimately achieved the look she wanted, the procedure had devastating consequences.
After having her eyeballs tattooed, she lost her vision for three weeks.
She explained to IGV: “It is not meant to happen like that. You are supposed to see straight after and feel no pain or discomfort. The eyeball has no nerves at the front of the eye – unfortunately for me – he hit my retina.”
Although some people have undergone the procedure without complications, medical experts continue to warn that eyeball tattooing carries significant risks and remains largely unregulated.
According to WebMD, because the procedure is relatively uncommon, there is still little information about its potential long-term effects.
Luke has also dealt with other complications related to her tattoos over the years.
“I have had a mad infected wrist tattoo. It took two rounds of strong antibiotics and painkillers to heal the infection. Turns out you shouldn’t go swimming with fresh tattoos… little did I know they when I was 16,” she recalled.

How her tattoos have changed everyday life
While Luke embraces her appearance, she admits her body modifications have created obstacles in day-to-day life.
She explained to IGV: “It affects everything I do. My bodysuit is stigmatised to the point I can’t even go clubbing. No face, hand or neck tattoos since 2013 have been allowed or regulated.
“Finding ‘regular’ employment has been a challenge, but I ain’t one to shy away from a good challenge.”
Despite tattoos becoming increasingly common, some Australian venues still enforce dress codes restricting visible facial, neck, and hand tattoos.
One woman with cultural tattoos previously went viral after she was allegedly refused entry to a Brisbane bar, according to 7News.
Luke has also spoken publicly about facing discrimination because of her appearance.
Speaking on Brisbane radio show Robin, Terry & Kip, she said: “Everyone has their own opinions of what beauty is.
“You see these cultures [where people] stretch their necks, their ears, their lips. But at the end of the day, we all are entitled to our opinion and that’s okay.
“But, what gets to me is when someone expresses their opinion to me in public and comes up to me and says, ‘Oh, you’re ugly’, or, ‘You’ve ruined yourself’.”
She echoed those sentiments in her interview with IGV, saying: “It’s pretty intriguing to know just how many strangers are willing to put someone down they don’t know anything about – because they look different.
“Individually comes with a price – emotional turmoil from the close-minded general public.
“So to those who say I’ve ‘ruined myself’ – my response is that not everyone is supposed to find me beautiful or what I’ve done beautiful – everyone has their own ideals of what beauty is.
“That does not mean you have the entitlement to bring me down for doing me. That’s not on.”
Fortunately, she says the people closest to her have always supported her choices.
“I don’t have people in my life that don’t support what I do for myself. It’s that simple,” the model expresses.
Amber Luke shares photos from before her transformation
Now, Luke has given fans a rare glimpse at what she looked like before beginning the body modifications that made her famous.
The Instagram personality shared photographs showing her appearance before the tattoos, piercings, and cosmetic enhancements that transformed her into the ‘Dragon Girl’.
Looking back at those earlier images, however, Luke admits she struggles to recognize that version of herself.
She told IGV: “I absolutely despise it. Losing my visual identity is a rough trot!
“All those years, blood and sweat gone into my bodysuit, gone.”
