Man Who Tattooed His Entire Body Looks Unrecognizable After Removing His Ink
A man who had 95% of his body tattooed shows shocking photos after his ink removal.
Leandro de Souza was known as ‘Brazil’s most tattooed man,’ with over 170 inkings covering his body.
The Brazilian man started his body modification journey aged just 13, before deciding to alter his look.
Souza was officially crowned the most tattooed man in the nation at the Santa Rosa International Tattoo Expo in 2023.

CNN Brazil previously reported that the 36-year-old had struggled to find work due to his appearance, resulting in him living in a shelter for a while.
Two years ago, the body modification lover converted to evangelical Christianity, Souza announced he’d fallen out of love with tattoos and has been documenting the full body ink removal process.
The 36-year-old spoke with O Globo about his decision: “I didn’t feel good, it didn’t suit me anymore.
“It was a world of excess, which no longer did me any good. There came a time when I felt like a circus attraction.”

Souza shared on Instagram that he’s been undergoing the removal process at Hell Tattoo, which has shared behind-the-scenes footage.
The company wrote: “Those who follow us already know Leandro’s path – a story marked by great challenges. He’s been through the prison system, faced chemical addiction, and lived on the streets.
“As he himself reports, he had lost confidence in himself and felt that no one else believed in him either.
“Today, during his fifth removal session here at Hell Tattoo, Leandro shares with us that the scenario is different: he’s employed with a signed wallet, conquering space in society and positively surprising the people around him.”

The former tattoo enthusiast shared that it could take up to eight sessions to remove all his ink.
Souza told G1, he applies ointment and ice post-session, and says physical exercise benefits the procedure.
The 36-year-old added: “If you imagine that a person goes there to remove one from their finger and already complains of pain, imagine a session on the entire face, which involves three types of lasers.
“There’s the first, for removal. The second, CO2, to rejuvenate and not leave a stain. And the third is a type of sealer.
“It hurts a lot, no matter how much anesthesia they use, the pain is horrible. But that’s part of the price for the things I did in the past.”

Souza hopes his new look will help his search for a job to pay child support for his son and to regain guardianship of his elderly mother, who is currently in a nursing home.
Speaking with CNN Brazil, he warned others about the effects of face tattoos: “Think carefully before getting a face tattoo because I regret it.
“I was in the tattoo business, and back then, I didn’t pay for these face tattoos. I got paid by the tattoo artist I worked with. And I regretted it. I was the most tattooed man in Brazil, and I also tattooed others.
“Today, I don’t tattoo. I don’t condemn tattoos. I believe that, after baptism and conversion, there are more important things for us to do, my dear brothers.”
