Lil Nas X has ‘given birth’ to his debut album after weeks of showing off his ‘pregnant belly’ photos on social media.

A promo video for ‘Montero’ was released on Thursday evening showing the 22-year-old rapper in a labour sketch where he was rushed to hospital after his ‘waters broke’.

In the clip, titled ‘Lil Nas X Gives Birth,’ a ‘doctor’ tells the singer: “Just breathe, just breathe.”

When the album is finally delivered safe and well in vinyl form, he adds: “My, it’s beautiful! Congratulations!”

The new ‘parent’ then jokes: “It’s already Grammy-nominated.”

Fans praised him in the comments section, with one person writing: “This whole journey has been fantastic lol.”

Another added: “Thank you to whoever let this man control what he posts to his youtube channel.”

“Bruh this man’s publicity campaigns are just next freakin’ level,” a third said.

Alongside the labour sketch, he also released the ‘That’s What I Want’ music video, which shows the artist in a raunchy scene in a locker room, then in a wedding dress, and includes a surprise appearance from Billy Porter.

The musician held a ‘virtual baby shower’ on his Instagram on Thursday ahead of the launch and fans and fellow celebrities shared their congratulations on Twitter.

Miley Cyrus, who features on the album, wrote: “Congrats on baby Montero! You’ll always be my little baby! Thank you for having me a part of your debut album! I love you!”

While Sir Elton John also tweeted: “Congratulations @LilNasX on Montero, love from Godfather Elton. Stream ‘One of Me’ and the rest of the album now!”
