Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly ‘skipped Lilibet’s UK birthday party’ on June 4.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were apparently invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s gathering at Frogmore Cottage but declined.

A Royal insider reportedly told Page Six that the couple is still ‘wary’ of the pair following the shock Oprah Winfrey interview last year.

The source is believed to have said: “Things are still fraught – William is still wary of spending any time alone with Harry as you never quite know what may be reported back afterwards.”

However, another source has reportedly told Entertainment Weekly that the Duke and Duchess ‘coincidentally’ had another major event on the same day.

“It’s simply a coincidence they fell on the same day,” the insider told the outlet. “There was no intended slight.”

On June 4, Prince William and Middleton reportedly took their three children; George, Charlotte and Louis, to spend the day in Wales amid the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Although they didn’t attend Lilibet’s birthday party, they took to social media and sent their wishes to the tot.

They tweeted: “Wishing a very happy birthday to Lilibet, turning one today!”

According to Page Six, Lilibet’s party was a ‘casual, intimate backyard picnic’ that involved ‘close friends and family’.

A source of The Sun added that it was ‘everything you’d expect from a child’s birthday party,’ commenting: “The idea was for it to be very relaxed and casual, with people free to pop in and out as they wished.

“It was a nice opportunity for the other Royal children to meet Lilibet for the first time.”
