Liz Cambage has been branded ‘racist’ by her social media followers after she called a coach a ‘little white man’.
The WNBA All-Star, who is currently playing for Las Vegas Aces, took to social media on May 23 to rant about the Connecticut Sun head coach, Curt Miller, as he urged for an official to call a foul out for her while saying she weighs ‘300 pounds’.
In an Instagram rant to her 596,000 followers, Cambage then said: “I will never let a man disrespect me, ever, ever, ever, especially a little white one.

“Don’t ever try to disrespect me or another woman in the league.”
However, many then called out the basketball player and argued that her remark was much worse than Miller’s, as she had referenced race.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “How is Liz Cambage not being criticised for her racist comment in response to a WEIGHT joke to a referee… She replied that she would ‘never be disrespected by a man,’ which I can appreciate. But then went on to say ‘especially a little white one’. I don’t see how that is okay.”
Another fumed: “Liz Cambage’s response to the Sun coach, calling him a ‘little WHITE man’ is sexist, racist, and demeaning. She needs to be publicly held accountable for her choice of words.”
“One more reason to not watch the WNBA. Liz Cambage is insulted by a coach for a reference about her weight. Liz then brings skin colour in by saying I will never let a man disrespect me ever. This racist Liz should be suspended,” a third penned.
After making the remark about Cambage’s weight, Miller was suspended from the next game and issued a $10,000 fine.
In response, some people have argued that Cambage should face repercussions for her comment too.
