Liz Truss has beaten fellow Tory leadership hopeful Rishi Sunak to become the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
After weeks of debates and campaigning, Truss has won the keys to 10 Downing Street after being selected by Conservative members and will formally replace the outbound Boris Johnson this afternoon.
Truss, who has been widely tipped to defeat Sunak throughout the leadership contest, said she is ready to ‘unveil a plan’ to deal with the energy crisis within a week should she become Prime Minister.
