Lorraine has received more than ‘1,300 Ofcom complaints’ over a comment Dr Hilary made about vaccinations while appearing on the show.
Discussing how Covid could impact Christmas, the medical expert said: “So if you look at first doses and second doses combined, 97million jabs given and 20million boosters.
“The most vulnerable groups, the elderly and those people with pre-existing health conditions, have had their boosters and a lot of people are waiting for their appointment.

“And the government’s aim is to get everyone boosted by the end of January, who is eligible, so that’s really good news and that will confer a good degree of protection against even Omicron.
“Those people who haven’t been vaccinated, we’d really love you to think again and be vaccinated because 90% of people in hospital are unvaccinated.
“We all know the run-up to Christmas can be one of the busiest times of the year – buying presents, decorating the tree, eating mince pies with family and friends.
“I can’t stress enough how important it is to tick your Covid-19 booster or flu jab off your ‘to do’ list this festive season, among all your other preparations, to ensure that you can enjoy Christmas with your loved ones.
“It’s quick and easy and will keep us all protected as best as possible this winter. Now go book your jabs.”
Lorraine responded, saying: “That’s a figure that we have to really concentrate on, 90% of people in hospital have not been vaccinated.”

After watching the segment, many viewers took to social media and blasted Dr Hilary, with some people accusing him of ‘lying’.
One person wrote: “When is Dr. Hilary Jones going to stop lying about unvaccinated people?
“We are not stupid or selfish. We’ve read the info on the government’s website and decided that it is not a safe vaccine, as it is still in the testing stage. I don’t want to be a guinea pig and possibly die.”
Another added: “I challenge @GMB, Lorraine Kelly, Dr Hilary Jones and Martin Kemp to provide official data to quantify and prove their claims regarding the numbers of vaccinated and unvaccinated patients in intensive care and in Covid wards. Misinformation must stop. #Covid19.”
