M&S has given its hugely popular Colin the Caterpillar cake a spooky makeover for Halloween and it’s even more chocolatey than ever.

The retail giant’s regular Colin the Caterpillar cake has been turned into a ‘Yummy Mummy’ and it is coated in a layer of white chocolate, with its usual milk chocolate layer inside.

So it’s extra spooky, the white chocolate is wrapped around the cake like an Egyptian mummy’s bandages.

M&S took to Facebook on October 19 and confirmed that its iconic sweet treat now comes in a limited-edition special.

The retailer said: “Our limited-edition, double choc yummy mummy Colin the Caterpillar is here!

“He’s coated in a layer of Colin’s classic milk chocolate AND a layer of creamy white chocolate – WOW.”

“If anyone wants to treat me to this little bit of heaven yes please,” one wrote.

Another added: “Definitely need creepy Colin the Caterpillar [in] my life.”

Tagging a friend, one commented: “This needs to be found, bought and devoured.”

“If I don’t get my hands on one of these I’ll be very upset,” someone else said.

A fifth penned: “Oh my god I’m going to get one of these for the weekend!”

Following the Colin the Caterpillar announcement, the retail giant took to Facebook once more and shared another new cake range, in the form of Hairy Harri.

M&S said: “Introducing our new Hairy Harri Halloween cakes!

“Feeding a crowd? Pick up one of our large celebration cakes, made with Madeira sponge and a raspberry jam filling, topped with vanilla buttercream and chocolate decorations. Or for a spooky snack, try the creepily cute cupcakes.”
