Machine Gun Kelly, who recently hinted at ‘celibacy,’ has been ‘exposed’ for ‘not being able to play the guitar properly’.

Gunnar DüGrey, who works at Guitar Center, posted a TikTok video featuring the rapper performing, in which he apparently uses the ‘kill switch,’ which makes an instrument silent.

In the clip, the TikToker explained: “So I work here at Guitar Center, that’s my day job. We got an interesting new guitar in, Machine Gun Kelly’s signature Schecter.

“It carries a pretty interesting feature, it’s called a kill switch for those of you who don’t know. If you switch this in the down position, it cuts off all of the volumes, making it completely silent.

“That got me wondering, how does MGK use this in his live performances.”

He then shared a series of screenshots of the artist performing, which shows that the switch is in the ‘down position,’ suggesting that it is muted when he is playing.

DüGrey finished the clip by saying: “Not making any definitive claims here but certainly seems like he doesn’t use it for much other than muting his guitar while he plays.”

Over in the comments section, users were quick to poke fun at the musician.

“This guy is a prime example of a ‘poser’,” one said. “Regardless of genre. He’s a much better actor than he is a ‘musician’. And that’s still not sayin’ a whole lot.”

A second added: “It’s like when you give your siblings the unplugged controller when gaming – but the band gave him the silent guitar lmfao.”

“I think I saw Jamie Lee Curtis playing for him backstage at Coachella,” joked a third.

However, others defended the star, with one writing: “He flipped his over after killing his guitar while playing live (up off / down on). He talked about it in an interview.”

“Shaking my head,” said another. “People love to hate on this man for doing what he loves.”
