A Madeleine McCann documentary about an ‘official suspect,’ named Christian B, will broadcast tonight.
Madeleine McCann: The Case Against Christian B will be airing on May 11 on Channel 5 at 9pm.
The doc will follow former detective turned investigative journalist Mark Williams-Thomas as he delves into the high-profile case.
Its synopsis reads: “On the ground in both Portugal and Germany, Mark delves into Christian B’s previous offences both as a sex offender and breaking into properties.
“Using his known addresses, Mark pieces together where he was thought to be living when Madeleine disappeared.”
The programme will apparently look further into Christian B’s alibi, as he has reportedly claimed to have been on a holiday fling with an 18-year-old German girl during the week the three-year-old disappeared.
At one point in the doc, Williams-Thomas reportedly says: “I can’t quite believe what I’ve been told – that on the night of Madeleine’s appearance, Christian B was with a woman outside of Praia De Luz and spent the night with her.
“And if that’s true, he can’t be involved in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
“I now need to find this woman as quickly as possible, and get her to give me her account.”
Elsewhere in the feature-length programme, the investigative journalist will explore Christian B and his movements in Germany, following the disappearance of the toddler.
It’s believed he will also look into the potential weaknesses when it comes to the German prosecution case.
Recently, the Daily Mail has claimed that Christian B has written a five-page letter regarding the allegations, in which he states that there is ‘not even one proof’ he was involved.
