Madonna, who recently went viral with a ‘butt implant’ snap, has caused a stir with her barefoot altar photo on Instagram

The ‘Material Girl’ singer took to the social media platform over the weekend and documented her trip to a Sicilian church in Italy while celebrating her 64th birthday.

In the images, she styled a pink floral dress while wearing a five-layered cross pendant. Her blonde hair was worn in box braids.

She captioned one of her posts ‘Jesus loves me’, and the other ‘La Regina’.

After seeing the snaps, fans took to social media and shared their thoughts on Madonna’s ‘never ageing’ appearance.

Outraged, one penned on Facebook: “I don’t begrudge anyone at any age enjoying life but be more of yourself and stop vogueing. I’m sorry I’d respect you a little more being genuine.”

Another added: “Please act your age.”

“She looks great, wish I looked that good. But all of the self-gratifying pictures…. too much!” a third remarked.

A fourth weighed in, saying: “She’s gorgeous as always, but definitely doesn’t look like the Madonna I grew up with.”

Others took to the comments to say how ‘fabulous’ Madonna looks at 64 years old.

“Happy birthday girl!” one commented. “You are timeless and inspirational.”

In agreement, a second wrote: “The most beautiful woman in the world. Happy birthday legend!”

According to The Sun, Madonna wanted this birthday to be ‘special’, with a source commenting: “As with every birthday, Madonna will host an epic party, but this year will be particularly special.

“The palace is nothing short of spectacular. I can only imagine she has blown tens of thousands on the evening. But when you’re worth £700million, money isn’t an issue.”
