A man has been spotted tucking into a picnic whilst 60ft up a tree in a Bath park – I guess he’s decided to social distancing to a whole other new level!
Whilst walking in Royal Victoria Park, Dai Barrow and his friends were left completely gobsmacked when they looked up into the trees and spotted a person perched upon a branch, appearing to be tucking into a picnic.
Dai, who is a resident in Bath, was left astounded at the man’s guts to a climb a tree which he estimated to be between 50-60ft and he joked it was social distancing at its “best”.
From the man’s high vantage point, he was appearing to be enjoying a picnic whilst watching the sights below with a pair of binoculars.
Amused by the bizarre sighting, Dai posted footage of the sight onto Facebook. He captioned the post: “How did he get up there?”
He added: ” I think he has binoculars too. Social distancing at its best.
“Just having a little picnic at the top of the tree. What a lad.”
Social distancing at its finest!

Four days later (Wednesday 22 July), Dai still couldn’t give an answer to those questioning the sighting on Facebook. Many were left confused at how the man had climbed so high up a tree.
He said: “I couldn’t quite tell what he was doing. He kept moving something to his face, maybe a drink, maybe binoculars?”
