A man has revealed that he got stood up after taking a three-hour train journey for his first date in two years.

Craig Moffat, who lives in Edinburgh, arranged to see a woman – who he hasn’t named – from Aberdeen at an upmarket restaurant.

But when 35 minutes had passed and there was still no sign of her, the 21-year-old accepted that she wouldn’t be coming.

However, instead of going straight home, he decided to stick around and enjoy a plate of food before the journey back.

Craig, who has been single for two years, took to TikTok to document the journey.

In the clip, he can be seen stepping onto the train while a voiceover says: “Finally going on a date after two years of being single.”

As it was a long journey, Craig treated himself to a seat in the first-class carriage and enjoyed a bottle of Coke.

Then when he arrived at the fancy restaurant, he ordered himself a glass of white wine as he waited.

In the next update, Craig, who was wearing a shirt, tie, and waistcoat, revealed: “It’s been 35 minutes and she hasn’t shown up.”

The clip then cuts to the man ordering food for himself.

Accepting she wouldn’t be turning up, he said: “I guess I’ll just head home… I was really looking forward to tonight.”
