A man has been left gutted after a wedding tattoo he got for his wife ended up going horribly wrong.

His bride, Ashley Carlevato, recently took to TikTok and explained how the couple had wanted to celebrate their first wedding anniversary with joint inkings.

She claimed that she went for her husband’s initials, while he decided to have their wedding date written in Roman numerals.

However, it ended up massively backfiring as the numbers weren’t properly translated. As a result, he ended up with an inking of the completely wrong date.

The husband was supposed to get 1.1.19 on his arm. Instead, he found himself with a tattoo translating to 11,919.

Over on TikTok, his wife captioned the post: “I should have googled it for him!”

The video of her husband getting his tattoo fail has now gone viral, and many people have taken to the comments and revealed they’ve experienced similar issues.

One viewer said: “My husband was supposed to get our wedding date tattooed (2.23.19), turned out he actually got 2.33.19.”

Another added: “My boyfriend got his done, the person wrote it down right but didn’t stencil the right numbers. We had no idea until after.”

Others took to the comments and said that couples should never get tattoos done in the first place.

“Don’t ever get matching tattoos with your special someone,” one person penned. “It jinxes the relationship. I know too many who have matching and are either no longer together.”

In agreement, a second commented: “Bad, bad idea.”
