Marcus Rashford has responded to the backlash he’s faced over a photo he posed for with disgraced rapper Wiley.
It all started when an image emerged of the Manchester United player and his teammate, Jesse Lingard, with the grime artist which was apparently taken in Dubai on January 23.
Wiley caused outrage last year when he shared a series of antisemitic posts on social media.

The footballer has now insisted he does not ‘condone discriminative language or behaviour’.
He has shared a statement online, which reads: “This picture has been brought to my attention which I understand now, given context, could easily be misconstrued.
“I would like to reinforce that I do not and will not condone discriminative language or behaviour of any kind aimed at the Jewish community or any other community.
“I truly believe that tackling antisemitism in and outside of the game requires a greater level of attention and should very much form part of the game’s anti-racism stance.”

The 24-year-old has previously spoken out against racism. Last year, he received a ton of praise for the way in which he responded to being the target of racial abuse when he missed his penalty shot at the Euro 2022 Final.
Two years ago, Wiley was condemned after sharing a number of abusive posts, which were apparently targetted at his Jewish critiques.
Following the scandal, his Facebook account was deleted for ‘repeated violations’ of its policies. His Twitter profile was also suspended.
One of Wiley’s tweets reportedly said: “I don’t care about Hitler, I care about black people.”
Allegedly, he also compared the Jewish community to the Ku Klux Klan.
