Margot Robbie has confused her fans by announcing that she’s taking a break from social media.

The actress took to Instagram on June 13 to reveal she’s stepping away from her accounts. However, she didn’t confirm how long this would last.

In the post, which shows her celebrating the release of the Oscar-winning movie Promising Young Woman, she wrote: “Jumping off social media for the time being – check out @luckychapentertainment if you’re interested in what we’re up to, otherwise ciao for now!”

Many fans of Margot have been left puzzled by the statement, as the Suicide Squad star can often go weeks without posting on social media anyway.

“Do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself Margot,” one follower commented: “I’ve kinda tried to stay off social media myself lately.”

Another added: “You are carrying Instagram when you post every few weeks.”

A third admitted: “I’ll miss you Margot.”

The 30-year-old has previously revealed that she created a fake Twitter account when she was researching for her role in Bombshells

In an interview with Variety, Margot explained that she used the profile to understand how ‘young millennial conservative girls’ operate.

“I didn’t understand her to begin with,” she mused, reflecting on her character, who was raised in Florida as Evangelical and politically conservative. “But my process is to do a ton of research, consider every single option, know every single situation, scenario, thought, and motivation inside and out, so I can step onto set and then let it all go.”

It shouldn’t be long before we see Margot again, as later this year The Suicide Squad – which will be more of a reboot than a sequel – is dropping in August.
