People have been left baffled by the bizarre episode, with one person penning: “These shows started to steer off from actual cooking and the quality of food and now seek audience attention by creating shock moments. A little bit twisted from producers to begin with.”

A second laughs: “She should have told them she foraged it from the shores of an arctic lake, where the local indigenous people have been eating it raw for centuries. They would have wolfed it down.”

She placed the untouched bird on a simple bed of spring onions and tomatoes, a presentation that clearly did not meet the judges’ expectations for creativity, skill, or professionalism.

One of the judges, visibly taken aback, remarked in Spanish, ‘This is never seen in MasterChef.’

Saray’s choice quickly went viral on social media, racking up nearly 1.8 million views as users debated whether her move was rebellious or disrespectful to the show and its format.

For MasterChef viewers, who tune in to see ambitious culinary creations, her stunt was particularly surprising.
