Matt Lucas has revealed he was ‘thin-shamed’ over his recent weight loss at a football match.
The former Little Britain star took to Twitter and explained what happened, while also giving a ‘shout out’ to the woman who supposedly made the comment.
He wrote: “Shout out to the lady who stopped me at football today to ask me why I’ve lost weight and to inform me I look a lot older. For the first time in my life, I think I’ve just been thin-shamed.”

His followers were quick to respond to the incident, with many saying they had experienced similar things.
One said: “Sadly people will always judge no matter what. I’ve had it many times. Oh, how it must feel to be perfect. You look great, don’t let anyone bring you down.”
“Welcome to my world!” fumed a second. “I’ve been thin shamed since I was 18, I’m now 60, If it’s unacceptable to say someone is looking a bit overly chubby why is it completely acceptable to tell someone they’re too thin, skinny, underweight, scrawny or the worst one ‘drawn’. Oh, I hate that.”
Pitching in, a third added: “Happens a lot – you’re too thin, you should eat more, what do you need to go to the gym for? Etc etc.
“I don’t think it matters what shape you are, someone, somewhere, always has something to say! Why can’t we all just be whatever we want to be without comment?”
Lucas opened up about his weight loss during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine last year, telling the panel: “I lost some weight, I needed to take the edge of, because I put on a lot of weight in lockdown.
“I’ve still got a bit of a tum.”
