Meghan Markle fans are slamming the ‘double standards’ as Kate Middleton also wasn’t present at the Queen’s death at Balmoral Castle.
According to multiple reports, neither travelled to Scotland to be with the royal family on September 8. However, more focus appeared to be put on Markle’s absence.
Discussing this on Twitter, one wrote: “Talk about double standards, Nicholas Witchall saying that Meghan isn’t travelling to Balmoral because she wouldn’t be welcome whereas Kate isn’t travelling because she’s a wonderful mother.”

“BBC commentator questioned why Meghan has not headed to Balmoral. Another BBC commentator was quick to speculate why Kate did not head to Balmoral was because she likely needed to be with her children,” added another. “The double standard continues.”
A third commented: “Why is Meghan not going to Balmoral up for debate and discussion whilst Kate is ‘obviously’ staying with her children? So gross that even at something as serious as this there are blatant double standards.”

“The British press’ double standard between Meghan and Kate is always so pronounced. I’ve seen a gazillion Meghan isn’t accompanied Harry headlines and 1 Kate isn’t going to Balmoral. They are moms of very young kids who can’t understand what’s happening,” a fourth penned.
The comments come after BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell appeared on a live broadcast and said Markle ‘stayed’ behind and remains in Windsor with Middleton.
