Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly looking into building a ‘virtual world’ in the hope of connecting with more fans.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in 2018 and ever since they’ve been making headlines.

From being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey to working with Netflix, the couple is constantly working on their brand.

However, they reportedly have new plans, which involve working with an award-winning tech company.

According to The Mirror, Markle and Prince Harry are in talks with a business to launch the world’s first public ‘land sale’ in the metaverse, which is being considered as the next ‘evolution’ for the internet.

Celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton have already joined the virtual universe.

It’s believed visitors will wear headsets as they immerse themselves in these virtual worlds, which imitate aspects of the physical world using technology like VR and AR.

Markle, 41, and Prince Harry, 38, may even appear as digital ‘avatars’ of themselves, should they create their own universe.

The Mirror reports that a source close to the couple has said: “Both Meghan and Harry believe they will have an even greater ability to spread their message if they have a presence in the virtual world as well as the physical world.”

Reportedly, the couple has spoken to a ‘variety of experts’ and now believe that this is ‘the next stage to take their brand globally’.

After the couple quit royal duties back in January 2020, the late Queen Elizabeth II banned them from using their ‘Sussex Royal’ brand

That year, Markle and Prince Harry launched their charitable foundation, Archewell, hoping to ‘unleash the power of compassion to drive systematic cultural change’.

They have also signed deals in excess of £100 million with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify, the latter of which hosts Markle’s global number-one podcast, Archetypes.

After hearing about the Duke and Duchess’ plans for a ‘virtual world’, people have taken to social media and shared their thoughts.

One person said on Twitter: “Surely one of the most obvious advantages of alternate realities is that they wouldn’t feature Meghan and Harry.”

Another wrote: “How do you build a virtual fan base when you can’t even build a real one?”

“Does this mean we won’t have to deal with them in the real world?” added a third.
