Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone have teamed up once again to bring us another highly anticipated comedy instalment, Superintelligence.
Melissa McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone are known for creating, producing and collaborating on some of the most off the wall comedies to have been released in the past few years.
Indeed, Falcone has even directed McCarthy in some of their previous collaborations, including The Boss and Tammy, and now they’ve teamed up once again for their latest comedy, Superintelligence.
Warner Bros released the trailer last night and gave fans a glimpse as to what they can expect from the fourth collaboration between McCarthy and Falcone.
In the trailer, we get to see Carol making her way through her uneventful life until suddenly, she’s interrupted and essentially staked by an AI device, voiced by James Corden. The AI then informs Carol its intention is to blow up the world in three days and it’s up to Carol to prove whether or not humans are worth saving.
So yeah, it sounds just as mad as some of McCarthy and Falcone’s previous work. You can check out the trailer for Superintelligence below.
As well as McCarthy and Corden, Superintelligence also stars Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire, Mr Robot) as George, Carol’s ex-boyfriend, Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), Sam Richardson (Veep) and Jean Smart.
After exploding onto the scene in Paul Feig’s Bridesmaids back in 2011, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, McCarthy has gone on to become one of the biggest comedy stars in the world.
As well as returning to collaborating with Falcone, Superintelligence sees Melissa McCarthy return to her comedic roots after successfully transitioning into more dramatic roles including her Academy Award-nominated performance in 2019’s Can You Ever Forgive Me? starring alongside Richard E. Grant.
Superintelligence is set for a nationwide release by Warner Bros but as of yet, no release date has been announced.
