Michael McIntyre has served Ant and Dec the ‘ultimate blow’ after beating them in the Saturday night primetime rating battle.
According to reports, the comedian’s BBC game show, The Wheel, has pulled in more viewers than the duo’s brand new ITV programme, Limitless Win.
Apparently, Ant and Dec’s show was initially in the lead, with an average audience of 4.4million on its first airing.
However, the following weekend proved vastly different and the duo’s show only garnered an average viewing of 3.7million viewers. This then reportedly dropped by 200,000 the week after.
On the same weekend, McIntyre’s The Wheel accumulated 3.7million views – which meant he beat the funny pair for the first time.
Many viewers of Limitless Win have argued that the show is ‘confusing,’ while The Wheel is full of ‘laughter’.
Taking to Twitter, one person commented: “@itv I have to say though, the Ant and Dec Limitless Win show is sooo boring. Sorry, but it so is!
“That’s why we all turn over for The Wheel. It’s fun, laughter, singalong, a great quiz with fantastic guests on. Think many are getting bored of Ant and Dec also. It’s a shame you didn’t do it.”
Another asked: “Does anyone out there have a clue how the game show Limitless Win actually works?! So confusing.”
Ant and Dec, who’ve won 20 National TV awards throughout their career together, have been a part of many successful shows, including Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
However, they’re not invincible and have suffered ‘flops’ in the past, such as the 2011 game show Red or Black.
