M&S has finally launched the perfect substitute for people who don’t like mince pies – as believe it or not, some think they’re a little overrated – and now you can have the ultimate Christmas by stuffing your face with Percy Pig pies.
Marks & Spencer has been delivering all things, Percy, this year, from Percy Pig dessert sauce for your ice cream and pancakes to actual Percy Pig ice cream which tastes just like marshmallows! And just when you thought they’d added the cute little piglet to everything they could, they’ve gone and surprised everyone once again with Percy Pig pies.
A delicious alternative to your typical festive mince pie, the Percy Pig pie is made of shortcrust pastry and is filled with Percy Pig inspired jam. Topped off with a fluffy flavoured sponge, the pies are complete with Percy Pig icing and a Percy Pig sweet on top. Now that’s a whole lotta Percy Pig!
In case you’re wondering what does Percy Pig actually taste like, well M&S has kindly clarified by explaining it’s a custom combo of both berries and grapes – which sounds pretty yummy.
As the pie is pretty much Percy Pig from top to bottom, it’s pretty understandable that it could become somewhat sickly – so probably best to have in small doses.
But if you’re a Percy Pig fanatic, then this is an absolute MUST HAVE.
Recently, Kevs Snack Reviews on Instagram has written a little something about the latest M&S sweet treat.
They wrote: “They’re a little bit like Cherry Bakewell tarts and rather nice!
“The pastry is nice and buttery, with the jam giving a light sweetness and the sponge adding some extra fruity flavour. Definitely a hint of Percy in there!
“The icing gives the classic Cherry Bakewell style sugar rush and of course Percy Pig is literally…the Piggy on top!”
Available in packs of four, you can treat yourself to Percymas pies for just £2! They are now available in M&S stores to stock up on.
