A mum has slammed Disneyland after ‘Winnie The Pooh apparently refused to hug her daughter’ due to Covid rules.

Dani Reeves recently took to TikTok and blasted the entertainment company in a video that has now been viewed over 6million times.

She said: “Covid sucks! My daughter was so embarrassed and upset after this.”

The footage shows that the young girl ran towards the bear with her arms open and ready to hug him.

In the background, Reeve can be heard saying: “There’s Pooh bear!”

At this point, a member of staff stepped in and prevented the toddler from hugging the character.

Reeves then told her daughter: “Oh, you can’t go hug him.”

Addressing the employee, she went on to say: “Sorry, I didn’t know she was gonna run up on him.”

Disappointed, her daughter said: “Bye Pooh.”

Social media users were divided in their response to the viral video.

One wrote: “I don’t think Pooh is going to get Covid in that hundred-pound suit. This is ridiculous – a child just wants a hug.”

“Bless her heart,” said another. “I wish things were different. I hope she wasn’t upset for the remainder of her day.”

A third remarked: “Yet we literally just had a Super Bowl with thousands of people shoulder to shoulder without masks. He’s literally in a full-body suit.”

However, others insisted that the rules were there for a reason, with one arguing: “It’s literally a rule by the company to protect the performer and the other people at the parks.”

Another chimed in, saying: “Yeah, but Pooh needs to be safe, when Pooh is leaving his area he’s got to go, which means no hugging. This isn’t the first video of it. And not the last.”
