A mum ‘put a stop’ to her son’s romantic proposal in a clip that has now gone viral.
Dan, who goes by the username @catdaddan on social media, took to TikTok and shared the moment one of his parents yelled ‘no, no, no,’ when he was about to propose to his girlfriend.
He captioned the clip: “My dad didn’t know what to do, so he just kept recording.”

In the video, the man can be seen about to get down on one knee to pop the important question as his girlfriend stands on a nearby wall.
But the special moment was ruined by his mum who shouted at his girlfriend to climb down.
On the screen, it reads: “To the girl I was going to propose to, but my mum put a stop to it…”
The clip has now been viewed a staggering 9.4million times and thousands have taken to the comments to say he shouldn’t have allowed his mum to ruin the proposal.

One person said: “She got lucky then. Who wants to marry someone that lets their mum pick out their wife?”
Another added: “Lucky girl. She dodged a controlling mother-in-law and a husband with no backbone.”
“On another episode of mother’s in love with their sons…,” a third joked.
In a follow-up video, Dan explained that he returned to the spot and finally popped the question moments later. So it all worked out in the end!
