Mum’s Reaction To Daughter’s Pregnancy Announcement Causes Debate

A mum’s reaction to her daughter’s pregnancy announcement has caused quite the debate on social media.

It all started when TikTok user @jackkiechann89 shared a clip of her parents reacting to the news they were going to be a ‘nanny and grandad again’.

In the video, which was filmed by her parents, who are based in Thailand, the dad appeared to be overjoyed at the news of a baby, as he put his thumbs up and beamed at the camera. However, her mum seemed to be quite underwhelmed.

The TikToker made the exciting reveal by sending them a scratch card that contained the message inside.

When the mum-to-be then asked her mother whether she was happy about the news, she simply replied: “No.”

So far, the clip has been viewed over 248,000 times but many people have taken to the comments to say they weren’t sure how to feel about it.

One person said: “This is awful. I’d be devastated if my mum reacted in that way. Bless your dad though, sweetheart.”

Another added: “Wow. I would have hated to be the daughter right now. Mum looks as though she isn’t bothered at all.”

“Mum doesn’t want to be on the babysitting list lol. Congratulations,” a third commented.

However, many people also said that the dad’s reaction was so ‘heartwarming’.

One TikToker said: “Your dad is the best! It’s the ‘well done’ for me.”

In agreement, a second penned: “Lol nah, at least your dad tried to make it nice.”

Later on, the TikToker told her followers that she isn’t concerned by her mum’s reaction, as she knows the reason behind it.

She explained: “They’re in lockdown at the moment in Thailand so they can’t come over and she gets upset about it because she can’t see her grandson.”
