Neil Patrick Harris’ resurfaced Amy Winehouse buffet platter has sparked outrage on social media.

The How I Met Your Mother star reportedly held a Halloween party and served up the dish just a few months after the legendary singer died from alcohol poisoning in 2011, aged 27.

One of the guests at the bash, Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, apparently shared a photo of the platter at the time, which revealed its description read: “The Corpse of Amy Winehouse.”

It was made up of ‘beef ribs, pulled pork, chicken sausage in a spicy BBQ sauce’.

Supposedly, it resurfaced after someone wrote online: “I cannot believe how many very online people over the age of 25 are just now finding out about Neil Patrick Harris’s disgusting Amy Winehouse cake…”

After seeing the photo, thousands have taken to Twitter and slammed Harris for the ‘insensitive’ move.

“Society is way overdue for a discussion about the way Amy Winehouse was treated in the early 2000s and 2010s by the misogynistic celebrity media machine and the people who were a captive audience to it,” one penned. “Neil Patrick Harris’ f***ed up corpse cake is just the tip of the iceberg.”

A second said: “I don’t care if it was 10 years ago, Neil Patrick Harris getting an ‘Amy Winehouse’s Corpse’ meat platter 3 months after her tragic death is so disturbing. That’s someone’s daughter, friend, loved one, and is undeniably her.”

Others have shown sympathy towards Harris, with one writing: “I hope @actuallynph isn’t the next to get cancelled. Clearly, the display was in bad taste, but everybody makes mistakes, and he apologised for it then and now. Substance abuse is a serious problem.”

Another added: “Cancel culture is fucking stupid. Y’all trying to cancel @actuallynph for something he posted TEN years ago that literally, NOBODY remembers. I wonder how the family of Amy Winehouse feels about whatever d*****bag that decided to bring this back up? Sensitive a** people these days.”
